12 submerged concrete geese/duck pits strategically located at sea level, easily accessible with the island's 22 foot tides. Four movable on-shore blinds. Dry, concrete/aluminum mesh dog kennels. Game cleaning and hanging center, refrigeration and vacuum-pack equipment, electronic steel skeet thrower station. Tractors, thresher and other farm equipment. 21 fields producing wheat, alfalfa, barley and corn for island and migratory game. Feeding stations throughout the island.
The Domain:
In keeping with the spirit of the Island, the traditional Québecois seigneury was constructed over 150 years ago for comfort and self-sufficiency. In the 1860s, the present house was built and occupied by a doctor. He was responsible for the care of thousands of dying Irish (also some British, French etc.) on the adjacent Grosse Ile, a quarantined island (scurvy, famine and other diseases). According to folklore, he actually sped up their deaths to steal their few possessions).
Two fireplaces, one of original fieldstone, are just part of its charm. With five bedrooms and additional accommodation, the lodge comfortably houses eight or more guests. There is a staff annex as well as separate quarters within the house.
The seigneury outbuildings include an aluminum barn/storage/work center with specialized equipment, a concrete shed with two diesel generators, kennels, and a grain storage unit
