Snow Geese a la Francais

Rough Gear > Avery Layout Blinds
Rough Cooking > Goose Breast
with Maple Raspberry Glazed Onions

Today Thomas and the Canada In The Rough™ team travel to la Belle Provence, Quebec, for some late season snow goose action. Thomas is again joined on this hunt by wildlife biologist John Saro and also by Jude St. John; Offensive Guard for the Toronto Argonauts.

The population explosion of Greater Snow Geese over the past couple of decades has allowed for conservation hunts that are intended to reduce the number of geese nesting in the far north. The fragile ecosystems of the tundra are not capable of supporting the vast numbers of these voracious birds that congregate on the nesting grounds. In essence we are protecting the birds from themselves.

Chef Michael Olson gets wild with some tasty goose breasts and Rough Gear takes a serious look at the convenience and advantages of the layout blind.

Please tune in and enjoy some fast paced snow goose action as Thomas and his guests take part in this important conservation hunt.
