Fundy Ducks

Rough Gear > Corrosion Protection
Rough Cooking > Duck and Seafood Paella

Today our hunt takes us to the shores of beautiful Grand Manan Island where, along with our hunting companion well known waterfowl biologist John Sauro, Thomas and the crew battle the elements as they hunt for the American Common Eider.

The American Common Eider is the most abundant and largest species of sea duck and is one of four races of Common Eider found in North America. They breed from the south central coast of Labrador and Newfoundland to Massachusetts and throughout the St-Lawrence Estuary and Gulf region of Quebec.

Our chef Michael Olson cooks up some Duck and Seafood Paella and Rough Gear takes a look at how to properly clean and protect your firearms from the highly corrosive ocean spray.

As you would expect with a close knit maritime community, reliance on the sea has been a tradition for centuries. Watch as Tom reels in the big one " lobster that is " as he joins some local lobster fishermen to raise these tasty bottom dwelling predators for the feast that follows.
