In this episode Thomas and the crew travel to la Belle Provence, as they hunt for the majestic caribou in Northern Quebec. Caribou in this region are migratory animals that travel in a continuous circular migration taking them into the high Arctic of Quebec and Labrador.
The word "caribou" is believed to come from a Micmac Indian word, "xalibou," which means one that paws, or shovels. There are two major caribou herds in Northern Quebec; the George River herd with a population of around 385,000 animals, and the Leaf River herd with a population of around 628,000.
Of course our chef Michael Olson has caribou on the menu and prepares a wonderful Caribou Tagine. Rough Gear will help you choose the right rifle cartridge for the game you are hunting.
Please join us on a trip to the vast tundra of Northern Quebec as Thomas stalks the majestic caribou.
