Season #6: Episode List

This week on our Premier Episode of Season 6, we follow along as Thomas and the new co-hosts to “Canada in the Rough”, Paul, Keith and Kevin Beasley share some laughs and bonding experiences while they take part in a classic ring-neck pheasant hunt. After the hunt they take a moment to recount the great hunts they enjoyed while filming Season 6.

Join Thomas Pigeon as he spends time with ex-commander in Chief Major General Lou MacKenzie of the Canadian armed forces, Captain Pascal Filiatrult of the Canadian Military and good friend John Sauro while they enjoy a military duck hunt in Quebec.

Thomas and Canada in the Rough Dream Hunt winner, Quentin Motley, ventured to the far reaches of Canada in search of caribou in the North West Territories. The two hunters encountered some truly world class animals as the August adventure unfolded. The beautiful animals were in full velvet at the time and the scenery was stunning.

Keith and Kevin Beasley join good friend Brett McRoberts for a classic fall black bear hunt. The hunt occurs in the beautiful world renowned cottage country of Muskoka Region in Ontario. Kevin has bears walking only feet below his tree stand while holding his bow and Keith gets up close and personal on the ground with a slug gun.

This was truly a hunt of many lifetimes as Keith headed to the far North Western corner of British Columbia and enjoyed an incredible hunt with the boys at BC Safaris. After 5 days in the mountains on horse back enjoying some of the worlds finest scenery, Keith and guide, Shane Black, encountered a bull moose of giant proportions. With a spread above 60" and grossing well into the B&C record books, the hunt was on for the massive bull as he thrashed trees and grunted his way in to 60 yards.

With the ever increasing prairie dog numbers in the western provinces, land owners and ranchers are being devastated by the damage these small rodents are causing. Losing hundreds of workable acres a year to these furry little animals, land owners are thrilled when hunters pitch in and offer some assistance. Thomas and his sharp-shooting daughter, Jessica, enjoyed some father-daughter bonding as they experienced the great outdoors and some excellent shooting opportunities.

Paul, Keith and Delta Waterfowl's, Carlie Michie, headed to the Bradley Marsh located in South Western Ontario for some of the world's finest waterfowl hunting. The Bradley Marsh practices advanced waterfowl management programs allowing for unbelievable wing shooting opportunities. Combined with first class accomodations, food, guides and hunting, the Canada in the Rough Crew enjoyed a great weekend of waterfowling.

Paul and Thomas ventured to McKerrow, Ontario where they met up with long time friend of Canada in the Rough, Texas MacDonald. A true man of the woods, this Harley-riding, back-woods bear hunting guru showed the crew an excellent fall black bear hunt. The highlight of the trip was when Paul shared a tree stand with first time bear hunter, Janelle Vanos, who took a weekend away from her University studies and enjoyed an up close and personal encounter with a big, black bruin.

After the Canada in the Rough Crew hunted some of the Nations most intense terrain they decided it was time to enjoy the finer side of the outdoors. The boys gathered in Nova Scotia at the world renowned Fox Harb'r Resort and experienced what could be called the best upland hunting to be found anywhere. With hundreds of pheasants and hungarian partridge flushing in front of the dogs, the action was fast and furious. To top that off they enjoyed a professional golf course, skeet range, accommodations and food fit for a king. 

A chance to see the future of hunting in action as young waterfowler, Amanda Klawitter, lights up the camera with her smile and love of the outdoors.

Thomas joins long time friend and outfitter, Billy Franklin, as they search the badlands of Alberta for monster mulies. With a moment of silence in the field to honour our Canadian soldiers that have sacrificed so much protecting our freedom, Thomas and the crew have a lot to be thankful for. On this incredible hunt he also meets up with a tall-tined mule deer in a hunt to remember.

Thomas and Paul hopped on a float plane and travelled well out of civilization into Northern-most reaches of Ontario. Thomas carried the rifle and Paul had the compound bow as the pair waded through black flies and swamps to have some incredible encounters with Ontario's largest game animal.

The Beasley Brothers waited until the peak of the rut before heading into the Ontario deer woods with their coveted buck tag. As avid whitetail hunters, the three brothers went deep into Ontario's North West corner in search of mature bucks in big timber. With rattling antlers and grunt calls the boys used aggressive tactics and had many great bucks in range during the 7 day hunt with Dave and Bettty Frankovich at Pickerel Creek Camp.
