Your Canada In The Rough™ host is Thomas Pigeon, a man whose passion for the outdoors is matched only by his deep and abiding respect for the natural world.

Highly respected, camera savvy and experienced, Thomas brings his viewers unparalleled adventure, outstanding videography and exemplary insights into the wildlife that makes its home on the last great North American hunting frontier - Canada.

Fluent in both of Canada's official languages and founder and CEO of one of North America's premier branding and marketing agencies, Pigeon* Branding + Design, Thomas is one of those rare breeds whose urban sophistication and business acumen is in equal contrast to a broad set of finely honed outdoors skills. Thomas is as comfortable in the bush as he is in the boardroom!

Speaking from life-long experience, Thomas says, "If more urbanites could spend time hunting and fishing, they would establish a deeper relationship with nature. With a connection to our natural environment, people have a greater sense of who they are and their place in the world. With respect and appreciation for nature we work harder to ensure our wilderness and wildlife are conserved in perpetuity."

Thomas's life-long love of the outdoors was seeded as a Boy Scout and fueled by his father's passion for hunting and fishing. Thomas is the founder of a national hunting and conservation advocacy group and a principal behind the creation of the Young Hunter Education Scholarship Program (YHES). Thomas is also a passionate and articulate orator with extensive media experience and a much sought after speaker throughout Canada and the U.S.

When it comes to hunting, Thomas sums up his life-long relationship with our great wilderness this way: "Whether walking in the bush to simply observe, or with bow in hand stalking a buck through the first autumn snowfall, the outdoors is my sanctuary."

Thomas's hunting interests include upland game and migratory birds, but his primary passion for big game has taken him throughout North America and beyond. He is practiced in the disciplines of archery, muzzle loading and rifle marksmanship. He is a life member of several hunting organizations including Safari Club International, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Pheasants Forever the National Rifle Association, and he is a Sponsoring Benefactor of Delta Waterfowl.
